A Bit About Me
Hello, I’m Jayla Iseton from Fort Wayne, IN. I started Ice’s Mimii’s in June of this year, inspired by my love for Dungeons and Dragons, which I share with my husband who also works with me.
I’ve been 3D modeling since I was 12, starting with Flipnote, where I became one of the top creators in Japan. Initially, I wanted to study animation at Full Sail University, but I discovered a passion for psychology and law, which led me to pursue a career in criminal psychology.
The idea for Ice’s Mimii’s was born from my desire to create a detailed mini of an Udaak, a creature from Critical Role. The high cost and small size of the available miniatures were frustrating, so my husband encouraged me to design one myself. After acquiring my own printer in January, I began printing my creations.
Ice’s Mimii’s was established because my party members loved the minis I made for our campaign. As I connected with more players, I realized many faced the same issue: miniatures being too expensive and lacking detail. I wanted to support Fort Wayne’s D&D community by offering affordable, high-quality miniatures that enhance the gaming experience without breaking the bank.
Our miniatures are sturdy (though not indestructible) and boast incredible detail. They are larger than standard minis, delivering a wow factor every time you unveil them!
Why Ice’s Mimii’s?
The name is a play on my last name, Iseton, and a cute moment with my nephew who misheard “minis” as “mimiis.” Thank you for checking us out and supporting our journey!
Work Experience
March 2008 - July 2011
January 2012 - 2016
January 2018 - Now
I used to have a Nintendo 3DS, which is actually where my first attempt at modeling started. I became one of the top artists online on the 3DS program Flipnote. I mainly focused on drawing anime characters and creating battle scenes, and they became extremely popular.
In high school, I didn’t do much 3D modeling anymore because Flipnote was bought out, and you had to pay for the program, which I couldn’t afford. However, I continued sketching. Throughout high school, my art shifted focus toward realism and architecture
On and off, I have dabbled in tattoo design and explored various forms of art. However, I’ve always felt a strong pull back to 3D modeling. Once my husband got me a 3D printer in March, I spent hours watching YouTube videos on how to use Blender and Mesh Mixer. My initial prints were free STL files I found online. I started experimenting with them in the programs to understand how they worked. After months of practice, I gained a solid understanding of Blender and created my first models, which were my friends’ characters for my campaign. And now, here I am.
