Morgathra's Calling
Morgathra's Calling is an immersive West Marches-style tabletop RPG campaign set in the realm of Eldoria, where players explore the intricate dynamics between the goddess Morgathra and the dark entity Vorathrax. Participants will create two characters: a devoted worshiper of Morgathra and a servant enslaved to Vorathrax. Each mission, known as a "Calling," is announced via Discord, allowing players to form dynamic parties for three types of sessions: Morgathra's Calling, Vorathrax's Summoning, and Mixed Sessions that foster player-versus-player interactions. The outcome of each session influences the balance of power between the two deities, ultimately determining the fate of Eldoria. Join us and shape the destiny of gods and mortals alike!
Welcome to the Calling.
In Morgathra's Calling, players will immerse themselves in a rich narrative centered around the goddess Morgathra. Each participant will take on two characters:
Worshiper of Morgathra: This character is devoted to the goddess, navigating the challenges and trials that come with their faith. Players will explore the complexities of devotion, power, and the divine influence of Morgathra in the world.
Enslaved to Vorathrax: This character represents a stark contrast, trapped in servitude to the dark entity Vorathrax. Players will have the opportunity to experience the struggles and conflicts of being under the control of a powerful foe, adding depth to their storytelling and role-playing.
Throughout the year, we will run three distinct types of sessions, which is why you’ll need two characters:
What’s the Goal?
The overarching narrative centers around Eldoria, Morgathra's realm, which is under siege by Vorathrax, who seeks not only to claim her land but also to possess her essence. Each session's outcomes will influence a power scale, reflecting which deity holds more sway in Eldoria. Players will engage in a battle for supremacy, with the ultimate aim of eradicating one god from the realm entirely. Last Session Example: In our previous session, Morgathra gained six new followers who defended her temple against a surprise infiltration as they were being converted into Eldorians ( Name of those who are residents in Eldoria). Their victory tipped the scale in Morgathra's favor, diminishing Vorathrax's influence over her realm and the surrounding territories. What to Expect.
Character Growth
Your characters matter! As you progress through sessions, they'll level up with a dedicated mechanic in place. We’ll suggest appropriate levels for each mission, but don’t worry—if you’re a Level 5 and a Level 7 mission is announced, you can still join. Just be aware that it will be significantly more challenging, and the risk of character death increases.
Player-Driven Story
Your choices will shape the world around you. Whether you play in January or return in December, your previous sessions will influence ongoing narratives and developments within the campaign.
Morgathra's Calling: This session is exclusively for Morgathra worshipers. Players will undertake missions directly ordained by the goddess herself, exploring her influence and will.
Vorathrax's Summoning: These sessions are for characters enslaved to Vorathrax. Players will be tasked by Vorathrax to complete missions that further his sinister objectives.
Mixed Sessions: These sessions include both Morgathra and Vorathrax players, leading to dynamic interactions and conflicts. Limited seats will be available on each side to maintain balance, with attendance being first-come, first-served. These sessions often culminate in player-versus-player (PvP) confrontations, resulting in thrilling outcomes that can shift the power dynamics in the game.
A Growing Community
We use Discord as our primary communication tool for updates and community engagement. New players are always welcome! In our last session, a newcomer was surrounded by experienced players who eagerly assisted her in mastering her character. We aim to foster a friendly environment where everyone feels included and has fun
DM Style
Our campaigns balance seriousness with humor. My husband and I, as the two DMs, bring different strengths to the table—I'm more focused on roleplay, while he emphasizes battle. We believe that laughter and enjoyment are essential, so if you prefer a strictly serious atmosphere, this may not be the right fit for you.
